Well it's almost Christmas and what kinda guru would I be if I didn't get into the Spirit of Christmas! Literally!!!  I do alot of dinner theatre in the local area of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, these are Characters from the Riddlesbrood Touring Theatre Company's  "A Christmas Carol".  Heres a shot of me as the Spirit of Jacob Marley.  Pretty cool huh I built the costume myself.... of course!!!  The box I'm holding off to the side has metal in it and when I shake it it makes alot of great metal noise!!!!

Getting the look

Dec 22, 2008

Well, here it is the first day of Hanukkah and three days away from Christmas, and Kwanzaa and New Years are just around the corner.  I'm sure by now everyone's set up their trees and table toppers and their house looks beautiful and homey and cozy.  But I've been doing a little bit of exploring lately because I was interested in shaking things up with my holiday decorating.  You know the great thing about the internet?  The scads of inspiration out there just waiting to spark your own imagination into overdrive.  Check out some of these amazing decoration ideas that might be fabulous in your own house, either this year or sometime in the future...

Dad edition

Dec 17, 2008

Yesterday I linked you to ten (well, eleven) awesome gift ideas for the favorite mom in your life. Now quite honestly, some of that stuff could very well be used for your favorite dad. Who doesn't want to try some miracle fruit and chew on lemons, for example? Or watch Alton Brown practice his food alchemy? But fear not, I have assembled ten more brave and manly gift ideas for the dad in your life whose gift you're still pondering...

Mom edition

Dec 16, 2008

If you're anything like me, you sit down to write your gift list every year and those blank spaces next to the names start to take on their own personalities, laughing and taunting you with the fact that the holidays are getting closer and closer and you don't have one wrapped present in the house yet. Well, maybe it's not really that bad. Maybe they're just laughing with me, right? But seriously, I'm just awful at trying to figure out what people want. Which is why I sat myself down and made a list of ten items each for moms, dads, and kids, to help those of you out there who are just as lost as I am when it comes to buying gifts. I hope this helps you out!...

Shhh - don't tell anyone, but one of my Christmas wishes is to have FiOS!

Every new announcement of the latest and greatest gizmo - on top of what PCMag.com calls "the fastest and most satisfying Internet service in the country" - has me frothing at the mouth for the release date in my area. We have so many doodads in the living room that the glowing "Standby" lights illuminate the whole room at night. We have two DVRs, multiple gaming systems, and even a computer hooked up to our television. But nothing has made me more jealous of the areas that get FiOS as the announcements of their new features and widgets I've seen in the last couple of months!...

Ho, ho, ho, folks!  You-know-what time is barreling down the pike with blazing speed and it seems like all we can do is go on a shopping frenzy, cringe, and wait until it's over.  But that's all wrong.  The holidays should be a time of family togetherness.  Here's a list of ten things to do as a family this season that will hopefully bring the joy back into your holiday...

Monetization

Dec 12, 2008

Hello!

Before I explain and setup the lyric search, I want to briefly explain the monetization portion of the site. For those of you who have played around with the mood player, you notice that you only get to hear 30 seconds of the song. Well, If I had created the 7000 songs that we have so far, I would be able to play the full song. I didn't so I can't. But all is not lost! Thats where our friends over at Amazon come in to play!

Being far away from friends and family can be hard, especially during the holidays. Although sometimes we'll joke that we don't have to worry about random cousins dropping in and giving our furniture the white glove test, the fact is that we miss sharing things with them. That's where the beauty of cameras, computers, and the internet come into play! While your own Memory Wall might be a cool thing to have, what I'm talking about is making an electronic holiday greetings card to send to friends across the world...
