Consequences of shutting off FiOS router

Just a quick question here, If I turn off the Wi-Fi portion of my Verizon FiOS router will that in any way, shape or form affect the periodical firmware updates that are sent from Verizon to my Actiontec router? As a point I very rarely use my Wi-Fi because my entire house (Which is only 2 years old) was installed with Fiber Optics and many.. many.. RJ-45 jacks located thoughout and I just don't want to screw anything up as far as the operation of my router and Internet service.

Wow, fiber optics installed in your house and RJ-45s throughout? Nice!

That's an excellent question that I hadn't encountered yet, John, since most people have coax cable in their places, and FiOS Internet was mostly designed to work wirelessly. I'll see if I can find an answer for you, though.
