Each laptop model usually has its own proprietary power supply. Even within the same brand things can change. Older Dell laptops (C series etc)take a much different supply then their new counterparts.
If you are unsure check with the manufacture, you don’t want to play around with power supplies these days.

I agree with tsunamii. You DO NOT want to play with the power supplies for Laptops...let alone any computer device. The voltage regulation amongst laptops is quite complex, due to the sensitive circuitry in them, and the many variations of battery sizes.
You can check out stores like Micro Center to find a replacement charger for your model of laptop.

Does anyone know if one laptop charger will work on all other laptops? Is there a certain model that only works for certain laptops?
