"Watching the Steeler games was great on the new TV, especially with the FiOS. We have been having movie night on Fridays and Saturdays. The movies on demand or using the Blu-ray. It is just like a movie theater with a very cozy atmosphere."
-Beth Jesserer
Dad Jerry and 6-year-old daughter Julia play music together as The JBJBs. Mom Susan designs one-of-a-kind jewelry in her home studio. Thanks to a revved-up digital playground, the only limits now are their imaginations.
Family Blog!Within days of the 2.0 upgrade, Jerry was blogging like a champ, sharing photos and his thoughts on the whirlwind TV show experience. He and Jules christened "JBJB Studio 1" by laying down some tracks -- this time with grade-A digital equipment -- for "Goin' to The Playground." After learning to use her custom-made jewelry website, Sue was commissioned to create an engagement ring, by a gentleman in the UK who saw her episode on the web and tracked her down!
The JBJBs have recorded a rockin' version of our song "Verizon on the Horizon" at JBJB Studio One. Jules and I wrote the song shortly after we found out that we were one of the families in the running for the My Home 2.0 makeover and FiOS upgrade...
Here's an mp3 of "Going To The Playground" in the works - a rough mix. Dad's playing the guitars and Jules is on the piano....
I received a call from some guy in the UK because of the youtube show. He wants to get engaged to his girlfriend who lives in Doylestown and wants me to design and make the ring...
The Buckleys' tiny tube TV and VCR (remember those?) were replaced with a 47" HDTV and booming surround sound. 6-year-old Julia's terminally sick PC was replaced with a spry Apple MiniMac. And Sue and Jerry each got their own space upstairs -- she took over the other half of the room as a networked jewelry staging area, while Jerry got a seldom-used spare bedroom for JBJBs World Headquarters, fully stocked with the latest in digital recording tools.
We were lucky enough to meet James Earl Jones in our backyard during the block party . . . what a thrill for us Buckleys!
Susan Buckley and I discuss the family's experience in the My Home 2.0 RV...
Jerry Buckley has been writing and playing music since he was 14, and his wife Sue is a talented jewelry designer. Both of them had to put their artistic ambitions on the back burner, though, once daughter Julia was born in 2001. Jerry works from home as a graphic designer, and shared a crowded upstairs space with Sue's jewelry workshop. This same room also served as a recording space for The JBJBs -- a fun music group comprised of Jerry and his 6-year-old daughter -- that is, when their squeaky, old, analog tape recorder was actually working.
The crew all left Thornton, PA, Sunday afternoon and drove to Doylestown to check out the Buckley home. We're shooting some interviews with Jerry, Sue and Julia on Monday, so the crew did a walk-through...
Susan, Jerry and Julia need an upgrade...
The Techno-Gurus give this creative family a rockstar upgrade.
