Hide Those Ugly Cords and Adapters with Style!

Some day fairly soon, the ultimate 2.0 version of your home may include wireless power to charge your cell phone, mp3 player and other peripheral devices. But in the here-and-now, you've probably got a big mess of cords and chunky adapters plugged into a surge protector on your desk, and odds are, it's not too pretty.

I came across an elegant and easy solution to the cluttered charger problem, on a cool and crafty blog called Two Loose Teeth.

Using an inexpensive media box, an X-Acto knife, some bookplates and brads, Lisa -- one of the site's two blogging sisters -- created a really professional-looking charging station that's much easier on the eyes.

I like the simple look of the photo box, but I bet a more personalized one would make a really special gift, too. I was thinking some photos or paper collage stuck to the box with some Mod Podge would look great, but since this classic craft adhesive isn't particularly heat-resistant, I'm not so sure how it'd hold up. The project's creator says in her blog comments that the heat generated by her chargers hasn't been an issue, but are there any scrapbooking/ decoupage/ craft experts out there who care to weigh in on adding Mod Podge to the outside of such a box?
