Philadelphia Video Game Expo 2008 from Lloyd Emelle on Vimeo
This weekend the VGEXPO (www.videogame.net) was in town, so me and some friends decided to stop by and see what all the hype was about.
This years expo featured all of my favorite single and multiplayer games including Halo 3, Guitar Hero, Rockband, Wii fit, and Call of Duty 4. Tournament and competition were going on all over, and before I knew it I was getting in on the action powning n00bs!
Processor giant Intel was one of the more noticible sponsors of the event with some interesting displays and setups. Although I am more of an AMD guy than Intel I am excited about their new line of i7 processors. These processors hold the title of world's fastest processors. There were a few computers setup with the new processor, but having worked in the micro-electronics business for sometime, I know that in order to truly test the power of the processor, you need more than a demp computer running one game. It is, however, exciting to see Intel raise the bar in the Processor market, and hopefully we see something ground breaking from the AMD camp soon as well!
There was this one really cool interactive demo that made you a character in a comic book! My friend Georgia was brave enough to try it out! You can check out her comic book, and create your own at http://www.cmd-intel.com/intelarcade/share.php?uid=707.

Steve Knab Explains the Demo to Guru Lloyd
Of course, what would an event be without a Verizon FiOS booth! I litterally ran into Verizon Producer for My Home 2.0 Debbie Dorsey while walking around the Expo. It was very exciting to see her, and I she brought me over to the Verizon booth where I got to catch up with a few FiOS Pros who have helped out with past episodes.
Its fitting for FiOS to be at a video game expo especially with its really awesome Video Games On Demand Service! If you are a Verizon FiOS or high speed internet customer, and you haven't tried out games on demand, give it a go for FREE for 2 weeks. Visit http://gamesondemand.verizon.net for more details.
All in all this was an exciting event and I can't wait to go again soon!
Special thanks to Steve Knab, Technical Marketing Engineer at Intel for the interview, Georgia Shiloh and Johnathan Coleman for their help with the video and a great afternoon!
Also special thanks to Lewis Jordan for the audio track in the video. The song, "OMG" is from his latest mixtape. Visit www.myspace.com/lewstatic
