Hey, Jim here. I'm really excited to welcome a refreshing new voice to the My Home 2.0 Family, my good friend and fellow blogger, Dee. She's an outstanding, witty writer, and pretty darn tech-savvy to boot -- in fact, she's usually the first person I instant-message when I've got blogging or other technical issues myself. Plus, she brings a much-needed, balanced perspective to the site, one that no amount of Techno-Guru wizardry could ever permit me to attain: that of a working mom. (Seriously, Gurus, no trying to reprogram my gray matter by remote, now. I've got a tinfoil hat and I'm not afraid to use it.)
So please make Dee feel welcome, and enjoy her insightful, home-brewed posts next week (and beyond!) while I'm covering the Royer and Porter makeovers from behind the scenes.
-Jim 2.0

Hey folks, and thanks for the warm welcome, Jim 2.0! It's an honor and a pleasure to work on My Home 2.0.
Let me tell you a little more about myself. I'm a wife and a mother of two little girls in elementary school. I'm also working as well as attending graduate school in the evenings. Things around my house are just a tiny bit, shall we say, hectic? And now that school has started for both me and my children, we're all coping with homework, although I think that these days, their school sends out more mommy-homework than kid-homework. (Sure guys, I'd love to fill out redundant information on 13 separate forms, pack lunches, volunteer to help out in the school garden, and help my children write autobiographies by Friday... I didn't need to sleep this month, anyway.)
But in all, sometimes I count my blessings that we're living in today's age where technology can serve as a busy family's personal assistant - that is, if you have the opportunity to do so. When I read about our upcoming Ft. Wayne technology makeover family, the Porters, and how mom Melinda uses a paper calendar with sticky notes stuck to her fridge to keep track of the seven members of her family, I was speechless. Sticky notes fall off! My dogs snack on sticky notes like the paper is really bacon! What if she loses one and Anna misses a play date?
Yum, bacon-flavored sticky notes!
I had to some calming breaths and remembered to relax - the Porters will soon be getting a makeover care of the Gurus. But for those of you who don't have your own personal gurus, I'll have some tips for you soon on how to get started on organizing your life electronically.
