Above: Our basement home theater system. The lights and sirens are synched with a program on the computer upstairs, so whenever our team scores it's like a fire engine going off!
Hello Everyone, This has been a difficult post to compose because we could not really fathom how to express our level of gratitude to everyone who was involved on this project.
It is so rare in life to meet such a large group of people all working toward the same goal who are all so uniformly professional, hard working and nice. (of course it goes without saying that it is also rare in life to have people throwing free stuff at you too!!)
Many people have commented to us how lucky we are to have been chosen to receive the Verizon My Home 2.0 Makeover and all that it entails and certainly we are BUT we think we are even more lucky for being given the oppurtunity to have met all of the people involved. It has been an overwhelming experience, to say the least, one the Wurtz family won't soon recover from but from beginning to end I can honestly say that meeting all of you made it an awesome experience.
It is our sincere hope that our paths will cross again in the future (especially with whoever thought it was a good idea to have a fire engine siren in our basement! (kidding, of course)) and we hope that should any of the crew ever be in our neighborhood again PLEASE come and see us. ( Unless you are dropping off a bill and telling us that it was all a big hoax and now we gotta pay up. In that case, knock on my neighbor, Melissa's door!)
It was truly a pleasure meeting all of you, thank you! thank you! thank you!
-The very grateful Wurtz Family

Hey Mary, great to hear from you! I've always said that getting to spend time with such wonderful families, who always go out of their way to make US feel like a part of their family, is one of the great perks of this job, and what really sets it apart from other TV shows. So it's really nice to hear that you guys feel the same way!
"...whoever thought it was a good idea to have a fire engine siren in our basement..."
Hmm, let's see... bright, flashy, super-loud...I wonder whose brainchild THAT could've been... ;)

Mary I share your emotion. It is truly the most amazing experience and you are right, they have the best group of people imaginable. Welcome to the My Home 2.0 family. Not many people can say (only 8 families thus far) that they've experience this and I am so happy for your family as well as the rest of us. Congratulations.

Hi Mary, I must say that you and your family truly deserve the beautiful make-over. Your kindness and generosity made it a pleasure for me to contribute my time. I am so glad that I could have been a part of something that made your family so happy. I hope you have many years of enjoyment with your newly renovated home. Congratulations once again.
P.S. What is your neighbor, Melissa's address, I will send her your bill.
