Last week when I posted photos and recounted a few of my favorite moments from the Word block party, I can't believe I forgot this one.
While I did mention son Lewis (a.k.a. Lew Static) performing "Success" before the makeover reveal, I neglected to mention the 2nd performance, which took place just moments after the family saw their home, 2.0.
The talented Word family came up with this jam just moments before, and worked it into the beats the block party DJ was playing -- how cool is that? I still love the original show theme song by the Polyjesters, but it was a great change of pace (kind of like the party itself, a change of seasons) to hear another "2.0" song with a totally different flavor and feel...maybe Lew Static and Co. could lay down a studio version for us at some point...?
And how much do you love Dancing Grandma, by the way? Lewis totally needs to hire her as his backup dancer when he goes on tour -- she made the crowd go nuts!
Hope the Memorial Day you're having is half as fun as this party was...or the Wurtzes' party will be!
So what's your all-time favorite summer jam? The one song that just makes you wanna kick off your shoes, throw some dogs on the grill and give summertime a big ol' high-five? Leave a comment below!
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to sing this catchy tune to myself for the next 2 or 3 hours:
My home was kind of old, 2.0, come invade my home, I need a makeover...

My favorite summer jam has to be anything from the grease soundtrack. or even better, the grease megamix with snippets of all the songs!
