Have you heard about MomSpace.com?
Dubbed "The place where Moms help Moms," the site has really taken off in the two years since it was launched by mom entrepreneurs (momtrepreneurs?) Erica Rubach and Joani Reisen (above).
MomSpace is a really cool concept -- a spot where moms can make friends with other moms, share product reviews, and find local services to help them juggle the dual demands of careers and children.
Guru Alison wrote a very eloquent article for the site, sharing her passion for getting women and girls to embrace technology and the empowering effects of the DIY movement -- stuff she considers not all that different from more "traditional" crafts women have enjoyed for ages.
To Alison, they key is making gadgets and tech fun and accessible for women:
"Using accessible language is important: an LED is a 'glowing bead with legs.' If you say it like that, suddenly a little girl is excited about playing with electronic gadgets."
Congrats, Alison -- glad to see you sharing your passion with even more people, especially young women!

momspace.com is slow, crap information, outdated and useless - I'll never waste another minute on it!!!!! So many better choices out there - try http://www.ivillage.com/

Well, to be fair, iVillage has been around for over a decade -- a lot more time to learn and grow than Momspace so far.
Thanks for the feedback, though.
