Well technically I don't think there is a definition for "Fone", but then again the new Verizon Hub isn't your usual home phone.
This new device reminds me of something from the Jetson's; yet you don't need a flying car and robot maid to get this device.
The Verizon Hub allows you to make phone calls the old way while also giving you access to neat features such as useful internet services, personal calendar, address book, ring tones (yes...ring tones for the home phone), directions, movie trailer's and much more. The large touchscreen display allows for easy navigation of the Hub's Interface. I appreciate the fact that Verizon gives you access to services that you need and use throughout a busy day, and limits the amount of Internet Services. This ensures that you will stay on task throughout the day, and not get side tracked with other distractions on the web. There are plans for more features such as email, text messaging, and handsets that double as remotes...
BUT...(and thats a big butt)
If I had it my way, there are a few features I would like to see added, such as custom widgets for the main screen, an RSS feed reader, control of my FiOS DVR (e.g. setting up recording schedules so I don't miss the newest episode of My Home 2.0), and module upgrades for video calls.
Check out the full specs on the Verizon Hub and how you can get your own here!

That is so cool! I was actually reading about these gizmos in an article on pcmag.com (you say "distractions," I say "research," heh heh.) It looks like you actually can get a phone handset that will control your FiOS TV, too -- not sure about DVR at the moment, though.
Either way, I bet one of these babies could make a nice addition to a future My Home 2.0 makeover, huh....

Hey Rob,
If I'm not sure of the exact release date, but I know if we do anymore upgrades, I will try my best to get a pre-release model of this device for the families! So if you are a part of one of the lucky families, then you may be in luck!
