Dear Santa,

Lloyd has been very nice...

Dec 23, 2007

Dearest Santa,
I have compiled a list of things I want for Christmas, in the hopes that you will be able to fufill my request in the two days left until you deliver the gifts. Rumor has it that Santa is an active participant of this Blog, and has even been photographed by an anonymous family. At any rate, the following are the items I wish to get for christmas:

Nokia N810
This internet tablet has everything I need to take several of my projects to the next level. It has built in GPS, wifi, and bluetooth; all of which is neatly bundled into a free and open source Operating System. The browser is fully functional, which means MoodSwings works on it! Not only that, with built in GPS, I can give my Cartroller Project a jump-start and get it back in motion.

Bugs!
No not real Bugs...BugLab Bugs!
This is the coolest thing to come out since the Nokia N810, and I would loove a test-kit of the Bug Labs' bugs. These bugs would have infinite uses. For instance, the Bat Cave design the Guru's and I put together was AWESOME, but what can we do to top it? Well what about a secret lair that instead of a facade with a bookcase with secret book, why not have a Visual Recognition System with Voice confirmation; or fingerprint reader with voice activated secret code? Those are just a few of the possibilities!

Rockband!
Drum Set? Check. 2 Guitars? Check. Microphone? Check.
If you haven't played Rockband yet, you really really need to ASAP! It is a really really fun game. I'm actually better at the drums than I thought!

Thanks Santa, and Merry Christmas!

Warm Regards,
Lloyd E.

That "BUG" thing really does sound cool, Lloyd...provided a tech-genius like you is at the helm! I checked out the website:

"BUG is an open source, modular consumer electronics platform that makes building hardware just as easy as writing software or Web applications."

When it comes to high-tech stuff, I need "easy as pie," or "easy like Sunday morning." But maybe you could incorporate this gizmo into some future episodes....?

Hey Jim, One of the things I felt was lacking in the episodes was that inventive genius found in next level house automation. I spent alot of time ensuring the computers were up to par I didn't get to showcase the cool automation possibilities that are possible with such gadgets as the BUGs. In future episodes, I will definitely love to "bug" the houses, and show off yet another reason why internet-over-fiber can make your house the coolest house on the block!
