Happy birthday to me (and you)

Chinese New Year

Feb 06, 2008

So everyone forgot my birthday on 1/21. That's OK. I'm not bitter, because today is your chance to celebrate my birthday AND yours.

Today is Chinese New Year, and according to traditions, we believe that everyone turns one year older today (as opposed to your actual birthday). Chinese New Year is considered the most important holiday of the year in China and several other parts of the world. Businesses close down for 15 days and families use the time off to play, rest, reunite, and EAT.

Although I'm in NY this year, I will be skyping with my family tonight and hoping that the aroma from all that food will somehow come through the World Wide Web!

Xin Nian Kuai Le everyone!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY YUE! Had no idea...

Hope you have a WONDERFUL new year - that sauce on top of the fish looks so yummy... If anything the WWW brought out the brilliance in the red sauce...
Great - now you've put me in the mood for sushi... ;) mmmmm. Just bought new Sushi plates and sauce dishes so perhaps dinner.... YUM... Sorry - hungry... LOL!

Btw - What year is this year? Rabbit? Dragon? I always get that confused.

It is the year of the RAT! Now, living in the city I don't like to hear about anything that has to do with the R-A-T. But if you were born in the year of the rat, you're apparently pretty cool. "They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical and hardworking. Rat people are endowed with great leadership skills and are the most highly organized, meticulous, and systematic of the twelve signs."

Hey, speaking of Chinese New Year, Verizon is actually going to have a booth at the Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade in lower Manhattan on Feb. 10.

They'll be giving away three awesome prizes: an HDTV, an HD DVD player and a surround-sound system. Stop by the booth, between Mott and Bayard, to register to win.

    More info...

By the way, Rat People are cool, but Ox People rule! ;)
