Let the Countdown Begin!

Hello Times Square

Dec 31, 2007

So I did the Times Square thing and it was fun, but not recommended for those with restless leg syndrome or small bladders (or bad eye sight - could you even spot the ball in the photo I took above?). This year, I've opted to countdown with Chris Rock at Madison Square Garden; should be a fun show. Regardless of how you're welcoming the new year today, I hope you have fun and be safe! And I would like to share with you a countdown of my own: Top 10 Memories of My Home 2.0 by Yue.
10. Watching Julian Irving give Andrew (our Creative Director) all of his toys every time Andrew comes in the room
9. Teaching Brian and Lloyd how to dance (let's just say they're quite 'robotic')
8. Playing the Wii AND Guitar Hero for the first time with Zach and Chaz Kaczor
7. Playing football with Jake, Jeremy, and Jerry Irving (but all that footage ended up on the cutting room floor because I was just that bad at football)
6. Daniel, Grace, and Dima Jesserer imitate the gurus
5. Learning High School Musical routines with the Zaharko girls
4. Julia Buckley decides to dress as a dalmation to keep me company while the crew sets up
3. My segway beeping, displaying a frown, and finally throwing me off (talk about getting my feelings hurt by a machine!)
2. Watching Timmy Zaharko breakdance like it's nobody's business (does anybody have video of that?!)
1. Seeing the look on the family's faces when we do the reveal! It's the best.

Great blog, Yue! How did I miss Timmy Z. breakdancing?! That would be some great video, if anyone has it....Zaharkos, feel like filming a new one for us?

A couple of your Top 10 would be on my list of favorite memories as well...Lloyd and Brian playing cheerleader while you were learning football from Jerry Irving was pretty classic. Some more of mine, in no particular order:

*Having dinner at the Kaczor family's house a couple weeks after their big reveal. It was cool hanging out with them after all the hubbub of the block party had faded, and getting to play Guitar Hero on that amazing stage setup you guys made!*

*Sitting in the Buckley family's garage, working on my laptop, when director Steve Bortko poked his head in and nonchalantly said, "Anybody seen Andrew?"...while wearing Julia's tiara. I bolted after him and said, "Dude, you can't just pop in like that and NOT expect me to take a picture!"

*All the puzzled looks from the Jesserer family's neighbors as you, Brian and Lloyd did your Holy Grail redux at 8:00am.

*The continuous dueling ringtones in various 2.0 Family garages (a.k.a. "production central") between Karl from Verizon ("Limelight" by Rush) and production manager Wayne ("Raiders of The Lost Ark Theme.") One day, after about the 38th call in 15 minutes, I dared to give Wayne a semi-dirty look...but then he threatened to change his ringtone to the "Entertainment Tonight Theme," so I put on my happy face again.

    *Laser Tag!

My greatest accomplishment of 2007 was showing up for every block party you guys threw.

My greatest moment was when Brian personally demo-ed the Batcave for me.

My greatest regret was missing laser tag AND the final wrap party..

And the worst meals I had in all of 2007 were those served on set for the crews. Sorry!

And I was proudest this year of this project and everything all you guys, crew, clients, families and Gurus did!

Thanks for helping make 2007 a great and exciting year for us ! Zach and Chaz will never forget ( and we wont either ) the year we got to be on TV !!!!!!!

Zach's favorite moment still I think ( because he tells everyone we talk to and talks about it alot ) was "hanging out" under the tent with the cast and crew on our back patio having bagels and coffee and "schmoosing" with everyone.

My favorite moment , I don't even know why I would say favorite, I loved it all I still can't believe we got picked.... but I guess meeting so many nice people that were so good to us and so extra specially good to my boys ( like when Yue, Brian and Lloyd played with the boys upstairs while filming was going on ) Just seeing how nice everyone was to my boys made me so happy.

I loved the night you all came to our house for dinner, and I watched Jim play with his flip cam and then you gave me one !!!!!!

Seeing Scott with all the technology was great fun he just loves his office and is very protective of it ! lol ( you should see what happens if I put anything of mine in there that "clutters it up " ) lol !!!!!! and Chaz's BIG moment when he is the first of us on tv and yelling "MOM" when he opens the door to the tech gurus !

Thank you to everyone for an awesome memory in our 2007 !

Ha, that's hilarious, Lora -- did Zach actually use the word "schmooze"? Guess it's never too early to pick up that skill...

That is a cool moment in your episode, when Chaz answers the door...he has kind of an "uh-oh, what are we getting into here" look on his face. The part where you're talking on the RV while the boys go nuts and chase each other behind you cracks me up, too.

I agree with Campfiresteve in his comment about the food on set being the worse; however I think if the food was good, we would have been to full and satisfied to get the makeovers done in time!

    Happy nEw YeArS!
