Rockin' the Pittsburgh Suburbs!

Nov 12, 2007

These block parties just keep getting better and better. We had an amazing turnout Saturday -- seems like almost everyone from the Jesserers' school was there, and everybody went nuts when they saw the big reveal on the Jumbotron. As Techno-Guru Brian said, "I haven't heard noise like that since the Twisted Sister concert in '84!"

The bit of a nip in the air only added to the feeling of the oncoming holiday season -- seeing Dima, Grace and Daniel smiling, jumping and clapping, and hearing their friends and neighbors cheering them on, sent little shivers down my spine. I kept thinking, "This must be why Santa Claus does what he does."

And the great thing is, we get to do it all over again this week! The Techno-Gurus start cranking on the Zaharko home the day after tomorrow, and reveal their handiwork this Saturday the 17th. RSVP for the next block party and get an extra chance to win a 42" plasma TV!

Thanks, Denis, great to hear from you again! The Zaharko party's going to be fantastic as well -- think we're going to have a bunch of great Pittsburgh-area bloggers attending.

That was awesome, Scott...your face was 10 feet tall! It was really cool seeing the episode there, like going to an old-school drive in movie.

I wish I could have been there to see the reaction of everyone , watching our episode ! What was the reaction like ? Do we know any comments people made after watching ? Jim ....any flip video of reactions ? Are they going to show it again at this Saturday's block party ?

Aww, sorry, I didn't get any Flip video of the reactions, I was just trying to get some good photos. The audience reactions were great, though!

I don't think they're planning on showing it after the Zaharko party, the one at the Jesserer party was actually a live feed of the Fox TV broadcast.

CORRECTION: We will indeed be screening Episode 1 after the Zahakro party! It'll be showing on the Jumbotron around 4pm -- I'll be sure to get some Flip video of the crowd reactions for ya, Lora! :D

We (the grandparents) were so glad that we could be at the
"Block Party". The Verizon staff did an outstanding job!!
As family, we were able to see first-hand the creative work of the Gurus and be almost overwhelmed by the top-of-the-line
    high-tech equipment. Go Verizon!!

Hi, Bob and Pat! Glad to hear you were at the party, but sorry I didn't get to meet you in person! :( I was running around like a headless chicken trying to get photos and videos of everything.

You two must feel very blessed to have such wonderful grandkids. Wasn't it great seeing their reactions on the giant Jumbotron screen?

Beth, can't wait to see you, Bill and the kids again this weekend!

Dima, you should have your Mom or Dad take some pictures or video of your new grin, if they haven't already -- I'd love to see it, and it'll be a great memory for when you're older. Did the Tooth Fairy treat you right?

  13. Dima Says:

    Nov 15, 2007 6:12 pm

    Yea,
I got $5.00 and I bought my brother and sister icecream!

Wow, the Tooth Fairy's gotten a lot more generous since when I was a kid...I used to get a quarter for each tooth!

And what a sweet kid you are, buying ice cream for Daniel and Grace! Keep up the good work, my friend.
