Verizon's Refer A Friend Program has been in place for a while, but with the recent addition of voice services to the referral options, the time to take advantage of it has never been better....
Record shows and watch them on other TVs in the house, stream photos and music from your PC to your TV, and more...just like Kevin Garnett!
Pretty handy little article in this month's Real Simple, comparing DSL, cable, and fiber optics (fiber-to-the-premises, such as FiOS) -- in terms of accurately appraising the pros and cons in a relatively tiny amount of words, it's one of the best comparisons I've read so far....
This just in! (Wow, it's fun saying that.)
Verizon got its final approval today, from the New York Public Service Commission, to offer FiOS TV service in New York City....

Verizon recently annouced the immediate availability of FiOS TV to business customers. This means that you will not only be able to enjoy that great picture at home, but also when you are out watching the All-Star game next week. Speaking of baseball, has anyone noticed the homerun frenzy Ryan Howard has been on lately?? ;-)
Came across a post today that made me chuckle, from blogger and self-confessed "Baltimoron" (ha!) mad anthony.
He's been "lusting after" FiOS for years, but hasn't had it available in his neighborhood just yet (hey, it happens sometimes, unfortunately.) Then lo and behold, his parents get it before he does...
TV industry veteran Marianne Paskowski posted a compelling blog on TV Week -- "FiOS: More Bang for the Buck" -- about a friend dropping her cable triple-play service in favor of FiOS, which offered more channels for less money....
Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words...
Check out these photos blogger Ben Guild posted, of a FiOS installation and a Comcast cable installation, in the same apartment complex...
You've probably seen these kinds of TV ads from cable companies already. Apparently they've been "using fiber optics" for years, and Verizon's sales personnel probably ought to get with it and, uh...eat more roughage...? Huh?
If these cable sales pitches have left you scratching your head over how fiber optics fit into the TV and Internet picture, you're not alone....
Share your tweaks, tips and knowledge with FiOS users!
